The only decks that will want Sword of the Animist first are those that play cheap, evasive threats, but otherwise, take both
One big difference I had found with Gush in Vintage was how much you really wanted a single threat to win with, and then all cantrips and permission
I'm sure the synergy goes the other way too - I expect some fans were looking for a place to include The Serpent Society and are now working on an Aphelia list
